Information we collect
Account details, content you choose to import, and technical information needed to operate and protect the service. The browser extension can read the visible title, prompts, responses, code, and HTTP or HTTPS links from a supported AI conversation only after you click its toolbar or right-click action. It records the source origin and path without query strings or fragments.
How we use information
To authenticate users, create and save the guides they request, provide support, prevent abuse, and improve reliability. Extension data is not used for advertising, sold, or transferred for unrelated purposes.
Extension retention
A selected conversation is stored temporarily in browser session memory, scheduled for deletion after 30 minutes, and deleted immediately when the PromptSteps import page accepts it. Browser restart, extension reload, or disabling the extension also clears session memory. Nothing is saved to your PromptSteps account until you choose to save the draft.
Sharing and processors
Hosting, database, and authentication providers process information only as needed to operate PromptSteps. The extension does not include analytics or advertising trackers.
Visibility and your choices
You control whether guides are private, unlisted, or public, and you may review and edit imported content before saving.
Limited use
PromptSteps Reader's use and transfer of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and security
Saved account content is retained while your account is active and as reasonably needed for security, backup, and legal purposes. Temporary extension handoffs follow the shorter retention period described above.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal information.
Chrome extension disclosure
PromptSteps Reader reads a supported AI conversation only after you explicitly click its toolbar button or right-click import action. It processes the visible conversation title, prompts, responses, code, HTTP or HTTPS links, source origin and path, and capture time. Query strings and URL fragments are not retained. The temporary handoff is kept in browser session memory, scheduled for deletion after 30 minutes, and deleted immediately after the PromptSteps import page accepts it. It is not used for advertising, sold, or transferred for unrelated purposes. The extension contains no analytics, advertising trackers, provider credentials, background scraping, or remote-hosted code.
